Abdominoplasty

Exercise classes promise rock solid abdominal muscles, if you’re willing to work hard for them. Sometimes, though, no matter how much you use an ab-roller, the flat stomach of your youth, or even your dreams, isn’t happening. An abdominoplasty, commonly referred to as a tummy tuck, is a procedure that removes fat cells from the lower abdomen and tightens the surrounding skin. It does the work that the crunches can not.

While abdominoplasty cannot replace the benefits of a good diet and regular exercise, it can remove overhanging fat that remains on the body as a residual weight gain. The surgery is most commonly performed on women, especially on those who have recently given birth. However, it can just as easily be performed on men who wish to get rid of their spare tires once and for all. Tummy tucks are unintimidating: while the patient is under general anesthesia, an incision is made above the pubic hairline. Fat is removed from the lower abdomen, as is excess skin. Immediate recovery time is two to three days, and patients can go back to work after two weeks. Support garments are usually worn to protect the abdomen for a month after the operation. The end result: a firmer, flatter stomach, and a thinner waist. Now see how good those crunches can be.

Abdominoplasty

A flat firm stomach is sometimes out of reach no matter how many exercise classes we take. Surgery is the best way to tighten, sagging loose skin and muscles,
and it will make
those crunches
count too.
